EASTVALE:   The Big VIII season continued to roll on Thursday for the volleyball team and continued to pose a challenge for the Wolves.  At Eastvale, King took on the Mustangs of Eleanor Roosevelt High and despite playing good volleyball, lost to their league foe, 0-3. (18-25, 16-25, 18-25)

“We need to continue to work on our consistency and pushing the tempo of our play,” said King head coach Michael Tongg after the match.  But he added with pride that, “we battled tonight.  The girls fought hard and continued to give everything they had.”

The team had strong play at the net with great blocks and there the Wolves demonstrated solid passing and Kills as well.

Moving forward, Tongg is hopeful that the squad will grow in executing their talent to “earn the next point.”.  Berlin Rodriguez agreed, commenting that the team could improve by “playing as a team the whole time.”

Gabriela McCarron summed up the learning from the tutors of Roosevelt: “We need to stick to our game plan.”

At 17-6, King has shown its game plan can prove successful.  If a loss can teach that lesson, then Tongg and his squad will take it.
