EASTVALE:  Lynnette Vu was a force to be reckoned with today and Roosevelt couldn’t do much to stop her. Vu drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Wolves past the Mustangs by a score of 12-1 in the final league contest of the season.

Brooke Lebsock and Taylor Anderson also had multiple hit performances for the Wolves. Cheri Thompson, Janai Davis, Lynnette Vu and Taylor Anderson all showed some power at the plate delivering clutch doubles throughout the game. Junior right-hander Kenzie Carlone improved her record to 12-2 on the season earning the win for the Wolves giving up one run on five hits while striking out five in 6 innings of work. Ryder Bishop collected the save giving up just one hit in the final frame of the game.

This was our first Monday game of the season and we started off a little out of sync. Thankfully, we were hitting the ball hard right out of the gate and that helped us hit our stride. Our pitchers did well limiting some big hitters on Roosevelt’s roster to just six singles, and we had some strong offensive production by Vu along with a clutch double by Taylor to get things going.

Others hit the ball hard but some just went right at people. Energy is good and the girls are playing hard and working together. Everyone is locked in and ready to keep this momentum going right into playoffs but first we are looking forward to celebrating our seniors at our senior game on Tuesday versus Ramona.
