RIVERSIDE: The King Wolves hosted the Centennial Huskies for the second time at General Old on Tuesday for our team’s Senior Night. With an unusual reverse-order tee-off that allowed our seniors to come in last to a supportive crowd of families and teammates, the Wolves played an excellent match, shooting their season-low true score and defeating the Huskies 215-368.
Emilyn Czaplicki and Sarani Yapa once again tied for low medalist honors of the match, both shooting a 1-over 37. Addy Ruan delivered one of her best performances of the season with a steady 44, and senior Alyssa Christensen was close behind with a 46. Georgia Herbon shot her record-low true score as well with an excellent 51, and Kendyl Chapman rounded out the group with a 64.
Coach’s Take: It was a lot of fun to celebrate the seniors today, and we appreciate Centennial’s flexibility to let us have all three of them come in at the same time. With one match left in the season, it was a little anti-climactic to celebrate today, but we still had a wonderful time and the seniors got the recognition that they deserve. I had a great time coaching them this year, and I’m hoping we can finish the season with the same vigor that we’ve worked through it.
The underclassmen had a great day as well, especially Georgia. She is one of our hardest and least complaining workers, and it is so satisfying to see all the hard work that she’s putting in start to pay off.
The Wolves return to competition on Thursday, 10/15, against Roosevelt at home for the last match of the season.
Season Record: 9-4
League Record: 6-3
