But the afternoon was not without its successes. Emilyn Czaplicki was match medalist with a smooth even par round of 35, featuring a pair of bogeys and a pair of birdies. Sarani Yapa was second on the team and third of the afternoon with a 39, yet she expressed more frustration with putting than her previous day. Alyssa Christensen returned to her good form with her second career best of the season of a 40, her scorecard evenly split between pars and bogeys. Addison Ruan battled well through a couple of frustrations with a 48, and Georgia Herbon and Kendyl Chapman bested their rounds from yesterday with a 60 and 66, respectively.

Coach’s Take: Despite the evening ending in defeat, I am very pleased with how our girls played today. I saw a lot of grit and mental toughness on a course that can easily catch players off-guard. Emilyn secured her third match medalist title in a row, and Alyssa continues to prove how her hard work and dedication to improvement is working out. Roosevelt can be an intimidating opponent, and the fact that we shot our team’s lowest score of the season against them is very exciting proof of our resilience, as well as our continued efforts to strengthen our mental game. We are halfway through our match-filled week, and we’re approaching halfway through our season, but I am hopeful and expecting of continued improvement from this team.
