The King girls’ flag football team finished up the regular season with an 18-12 win over Norco High School on Monday. The win was a total team effort, with the defense stifling Norco all night and the offense playing efficiently and making crucial drives when needed.
Defensively, rushers Annabelle Distel and Bailey Mann pressured the Norco QB throughout the game, keeping the Norco offense out of rhythm. McKenzie Dewar was a flag-pulling machine, recording a team single-game season high of 13 flag pulls on the night. Offensively, QB Julianna Magdelano was efficient all night, protecting the football and throwing three touchdowns with no interceptions. Receivers Kristen Mason, Haydien Neihr, and Isabella Magdelano each caught a touchdown for the Wolves.
The win secured King an automatic bid to the CIF playoffs. The team ended the regular season with a 6-1 league record and an overall record of 15-6. The playoff seeding will be released on Friday, and King will play a TBD opponent next Tuesday in the first round. The win over Norco was a great way to close out the regular season, with the team bringing high energy and effort for four quarters.
