“That first set, we played a bit too timidly and slow,” said King head coach Michael Tongg.  But the girls were able to turn it around in the 2nd and 3rd sets and narrow the gap between the two teams despite the ultimate final score and defeat.  That was a sign of growth and maturity for the squad.

“We had some long rallies and Caitlin was great on blocking,” said Sophia Manly while Jael Moore led the home team with 8 kills and Brooklyn Nielsen had 15 digs in the match.

“We played well and got into a rhythm of great volleyball,” said Tongg after the game.  ” The more that we grow in our confidence and willingness to fight for each other till the end, the better we will be on and off of the court.”

Berlin Rodriguez agreed, adding,  “I was honestly pretty pleased with how we played. Iwish we put more balls away and had better energy”

Tongg concluded by saying, “We have had great success along the way this season. We have run into a few bumps lately with girls being sick or injured, which leads to the line up be changed.  But the girls have done a fantastic job at filling in and changing positions for the constant growth of the team. We are so proud of the girls for giving it their all to get to where we are.”
