RIVERSIDE:  On Wednesday, tennis took on Palm Desert in the first round of the CIF Team Tournament.  The Wolves had home court advantage but it didn’t help and ML King dropped the match 6-12.

“The boys dropped a couple close sets in the 1st round that came back to bite them,” said King head coach Shaun Harris.

The team couldn’t rebound in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and the deficit couldn’t be returned.

There were some bright spots despite the loss.  Freshman Chase Emmons accounted for 3 of the MLK sets as he swept in singles. Captains Andre Olea and Ian Do were able to secure 2 of their 3 sets.

Thus the team portion of the season closes.  “I think the boys can look back on fun competition and time spent together,” said Harris as he drew some conclusions on the season of ’26

Chase, Andre, and Ian will continue preparing for their CIF Individuals Sectional that will be held on May 21st.
