CORONA:  Martin Luther King defeated Centennial 198-207 in boys golf on Tuesday in a Big VIII league match at Hidden Valley.

Chase Slavin (12) posted an impressive two under-par (34) round en route to the Wolves’ victory. Both Chase and his playing partner Harlan Yapa (11) eagled hole number seven; a driveable par-4.

Freshman Levi In posted a solid 39 with 6 pars and Joshua Lance shot a 40 after bouncing back from an opening triple-bogey.

MLK is 7-2 in league and is currently tied for first place with Santiago High School. The Wolves look to defend their home one last time in their final matchup against Roosevelt this Thursday.

“The boys have done a great job of focusing on the task at hand to ensure that we are in control of our own destiny. We are still in a good spot to chase down another league title”, said Coach Takano.
