RIVERSIDE:  On King High’s Senior Night, Giovanny Madott held court against the visiting Corona Panthers, spreading out the Wolves’ offense efficiently and democratically, which would lead to a 3-1 victory for the home team.

Giovanny’s play made us unstopable,” said King head coach Michael Tongg, “especially given how all of our hitters were playing.”

Bradley Mullen led the Wolves with 12 kills in the match. Logan Mckee had 9 and Kingston Brown led the team with five blocks in the match.

As the Wolves took control of the match, Tongg was able to put all six seniors on the floor at one time.  Together, they got to finish their league careers together.

“That was one of the great moments of the match,” said Tongg.

Junior Mahin Hoque agreed, and then said, “We are happy to have celebrated the seniors with a win on Senior Night, these guys played hard for the win tonight.  I’m  pleased, sad, but pleased. I am going to miss the seniors.”

King is at a 5-5 record in the Big VIII and holds an impressive 15-7 record overall.
