CORONA: The Wolves defeated the Sharks by a score of 17-0 on Friday. Sydney Cobb, Brooke Lebsock and Addison Christensen combined for 11 of the 17 hits for the Wolves lineup. Cobb went 3-4 with a homerun, a double and 4 rbi, Brooke was 3-5 with a single and two doubles, and Addison Christensen continued her dominance in the leadoff spot going 5-5 while scoring 5 runs. The offense provided more than enough run support for the Wolves pitching staff.
Ryder Bishop earned the win giving up one hit and zero runs while striking out one in three innings of work. Kenzie Carlone collected the save while giving up 2 hits and zero runs while striking out five in three innings.
It’s always great to jump out to an early lead and give our pitchers some breathing room right out of the gate. Addison has been such a spark for us at the top of the lineup and is doing everything we could want in that leadoff role. Brooke and Syd had some great at bats today and delivered big hits when we needed them. The pitchers continue to challenge hitters and execute on the mound for us. The girls are competing to stay in the lineup and they know that iron sharpens iron. We are looking forward to the Big 8 battles coming our way and we know it is going to take our best stuff every game to get the results we are seeking.
Next up, the Wolves will face off with Centennial at the den on Wednesday, April 15th.
