For all who are interested in joining our baseball program this coming school year, we have important information to share with you.

ML King High has hired a new head baseball coach! This person is currently clearing his paperwork through the District, and once all that has happened he will be officially announced to the community.

If you are interested in our baseball program, you are invited to join in on August 3rd at 6:00 pm, in room A310 for an important meeting.

The Athletic Department will host a meet and greet with new coach. Our campus will be very busy that day with Freshmen Registration ending at 6:00 pm, so the only available space to meet is A310.  We respectfully ask that for this very first meeting, due to the limits on the room size, that only athletes and one family member attend the meeting. A second meeting is in the works to go over more details about team expectations, fall ball, and more & will be held once school starts where we will be able to secure a larger setting.

ATHLETIC/SPORT PE:  As our new coach will be a walk-on coach, (meaning, not a teacher on campus) Administration would like to make sure that our baseball families know that this year the baseball sport PE class will be 7th period hybrid with only 9th and 10th grade athletes enrolled. Practice will begin after school releases at 3:24 (M, T, TH, F) or 2:34 (W). Specifics regarding practice will be communicated at the meeting on the 3rd.

In order to determine who will be placed in the baseball sport PE class, a “pre-season evaluation camp” is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday August 6 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. These dates will be finalized and communicated at the meeting on August 3. Please make sure you are cleared in Home Campus well before these days.
