The King High girls flag football team bounced back from a disappointing loss to Temescal Canyon with an impressive 39-19 win over Santiago HS on Monday evening. Despite the large margin of victory, the game was close until midway through the fourth quarter when King pulled away. The win brings the Wolves to 11-5 overall and 3-0 in league play.

The offense put up over 400 yards, scoring on 6 of 8 possessions. Quarterback Julainna Magdaleno threw for 280 yards with four passing touchdowns and ran for 124 yards with a rushing touchdown. Mia Sudbrack led the receiving corps with 9 catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Haydien Neihr had 3 catches for 65 yards, including a 45-yard deep ball catch for a touchdown to end the first half, which she followed up with the extra point catch to put the Wolves up 13-7 at the half. Isabella Magdaleno added 7 catches for 57 yards and 2 extra points. Kristen Mason added a TD catch, and running back Ireleand Fitzpatrick closed out the game with shifty running and a touchdown from 5 yards out.

Defensively, it was another all-around team effort against an athletic Santiago offense. Cornerbacks Londoyn Nava and Inez Martinez led the Wolves in flag pulls with 9 and 7, respectively. Linebackers Annabelle Distel and McKenzie Dewar each had a sack on the day.
