EASTVALE: The senior duo of Cheri Thompson and Janai Davis delivered all kinds of damage to help the Wolves secure a 12-2 win over the Roosevelt Mustangs on Friday. Thompson was 3-3 with a double, a 3-run homerun and four runs batted in while Davis was 3-3 with a walk, a pair of singles and a 2-run homerun.
Senior catcher Taylor Anderson also collected multiple hits in the contest with a single and a double and one rbi. The Wolves produced 12 hits and 12 runs in five innings which was more than enough for King’s starter, Ryder Bishop, who earned the win. Bishop allowed two runs on six hits in 3.2 innings, striking out one.
Kenzie Carlone collected the save allowing zero hits and striking out three in 1.1 innings of work and the girls went on to win, 12-2
We are proud of the fast start our team has shown the last few games. They are trying to score first, set the tone and keep the foot on the gas from start to finish. They are really enjoying playing good softball together, passing the bat, picking each other up and celebrating each others’ success. They know that the second round of league competition will only get tougher as teams fight for playoff spots and leave it all on the field. They are ready to do the same.
King begins the second round on Wednesday at the Den versus Corona.
