RIVERSIDE:  It was Senior Night for the Wolves as they took on the Mustangs of Roosevelt on King High’s newly resurfaced courts.

Seniors Hassan Khaleel, Andre Olea, Aiden Rheem and Ian Zhang were the players of honor and then they and the rest of the team got down to business trying to beat the ‘Stangs.

“We got out a little slow,” said King head coach Shaun Harris as the boys split the six sets of round 1.

But the Wolves rebounded in the second round going 5-1, led by Chase Emmons who would end up finishing undefeated on the season in Big VIII league play.  “We had a very high level of play,” said Harris, which propelled the home team into the last round which they would win 8-4.

Harris added, “We needed two more sets for the win, and the guys went to work in that last round and were able to grab another 3 sets for the win. It was hard fought match and the guys were happy with the result.”  In Doubles Captains Andre Olea and Ian Do swept their opposition to cap off the victory for King, 11-7.

Next Monday the team will compete at Andulka park in the Big VIII Individuals Tournament.
