ATHLETICS WELCOMES NEW POM AND DANCE COACH, DEVAN HANSEN

RIVERSIDE:  The Athletic Department under the leadership of Amanda Chann, is pleased to announce the hire of Devan Hansen to serve as ML King’s next Dance and Pom coach.

Devan is no stranger to the school as she is a proud graduate of Martin Luther King High School, Class of 2016.

During her time at King, Devan was actively involved in the school community as a four-year member of the Dance and Pom team, serving as captain for two years, as well as a dedicated member of ASB all four years. From there, she moved on to  California Baptist University, where she was a member of the dance team for her first two years as a Lancer. Devan graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and in 2026 earned her teaching credential.

Devan has a strong passion for dance, as well as an appreciation for Disney and film, which continue to inspire her creativity both in and out of the classroom.

Born and raised in Southern California, her family plays an important role in Devan’s life. Her parents, Kimberly and Darel Hansen, have both worked at Martin Luther King High School over the years in a variety of roles.  Devan is one of four children to the Hansens.
