AS CLOSE AS THEY GET

It finished as close as they can get.
The Wolves completed the 1st round Big VIII play Tuesday, competing against the Mustangs of Roosevelt.
The 1st round started great with a 4-2 result putting MLK in a good position, but losses on two close sets in the 2nd round saw the Wolves tied 6-6 going into the last round.
As the final sets finished the players went to the scorecard to add up the games as the teams were tied o sets each. As the numbers were checked and doubles checked by both teams, it became clear that the night wasn’t over. CIF rules require a full rotation of tiebreaks among each of the players.
So, with the sun going down and the lights coming on the boys went out to play some bonus minutes. Ultimately the boys won 11 of the 18 tiebreaks for the win.
It was a great team result as everyone contributed to this win whether it was a game, a set, or a tiebreak. I am very proud of these guys as they fought hard and never gave up.
Chase Emmons swept in singles and his tiebreaks to remain undefeated in league play.
