RIVERSIDE: The Wolves moved to 19-9 on the season with a win over the Panthers for the second time this season. It was a redemptive victory as King dropped two straight games to Big VIII rivals Santiago and Centennial. The 69-61 victory puts the Wolves into the League semi-finals.
Weslee Sorenson and Kavion Cameron both got their first varsity minutes of play in the game and Josh Ajayi led the charge with a career-high 31 points. 17 more were put in by Chukwuma Ezinwa.
“We had some great bench minutes from Je’Shawn McClain,” said King coach Darius Durham. “I’m pleased that we overcame adversity to reach the semi’s,” he added.
A notable achievement on a season that has gone well for the Wolves. The Big 8 Tournament will conclude over the next 5 days and then, hopefully, it’ll be on to CIF.
