The MLK Wolves finally squared up against the Corona Panthers Thursday at General Old, ultimately taking the win of 235-280.
Sarani Yapa received match medalist honors between the two teams with a 39. Sophia Llamas was next with a 43, then our two pairs; Samantha Woolweaver and Taylor Lauritzen both shot 49, and Addison Ruan and Alyssa Christensen both shot 55.
There was some success on the course, but we also found some opportunities for growth, including mental strength and mid-round recovery. We’re hoping to recoup quickly for our match against Centennial on Friday, when we are low on numbers and reliant on our remaining five’s resilience.
Most of the focus for the day was on our two seniors, Sam and Taylor, and celebrating their four years of dedication to our program. After the match, we had dinner together and recounted favorite stories and memorable rounds and shots for the girls. We will miss these two impressive young women, but we’re proud of the lovely ladies they have become and where they will go next.
League Record: 5-3
