CORONA: The Centennial Huskies didn’t pose much of a threat to King as the Wolves traveled to Corona and beat their hosts handily, 17-1.
King’s senior leader Zoe Zhang commented after that the match gave the girls from King an opportunity to work on their concentration, something that can slip away when the heat of competition cools. “I’m proud of the way our team used the match to focus on our own improvement,” she said.
The victory ended the first round of the season with King sitting at 4-1 at the midway mark.
“The girls played very well, ending the 1st two rounds at 12-0,” said King’s head coach Shaun Harris. “The girls continued this great performance into the last round and ended the match 17-1.”
The second round of Big 8 League play will begin on Thursday against Roosevelt.
