PROFILES IN CHARACTER – GRACIE GUZZETTA

In 2022, the King girls cross country program was in a rebuilding phase, facing one of the toughest seasons in its history. But out of that season came a spark. A freshman with a bright smile, a positive outlook, and an eagerness to learn stepped onto the track and became the lone female qualifier for the CIF Division 1 Championships in the 800m. She was still learning the ins and outs of cross country, but every day she showed up with an open mind and an energy that lifted those around her.
Her early success was more than an individual breakthrough—it was the spark the girls team needed to believe again. By her sophomore year, she was not only a consistent scorer in cross country but also a key piece of the team that reached the Division 1 State Championships her junior year. On the track, she set the school record in the 4x800m relay and ran the second-fastest 800m in program history, earning Team MVP honors in just her second year.
But what sets Gracie apart is not just her talent—it’s her character. Her biggest competition is always herself, pushing to give her best every day, not for recognition but for the good of her teammates. She leads with humility, lifts others up when they need it most, and brings the kind of positivity that transforms a team into a family.
Gracie’s impact cannot be measured in records or medals. It’s in the way she inspires those around her to believe, to stay positive, and to push forward together. For her leadership, resilience, and heart, we are proud to honor Gracie with the Champion of Character Award.
