WALK OFF AGAINST POLY? JUST WHAT THE WOLVES NEEDED

After a rough two weeks of Big VIII league play against both Corona and Norco then non-league loss to Rancho Cucamonga the Wolves are back in the win column with a walk off vs rival Poly 2-1.
The King Wolves completed their Varsity sweep of Riverside Unified School District counterparts this season going 4-0.
The JV Wolves went 3-1 and the Frosh 2-0 (North & Ramona do not have frosh teams).
The game was tied at one in the bottom of the seventh when Sophomore Eli Lipson hit a double then Sophomore Austin Acosta doubled to score Senior Preston Carrera who pinch ran for Lipson for the walk off. (VIDEO)
Senior Jason Jones stepped on the mound first for King Wolves. The hurler gave up four hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Fellow Senior Joaquin Happy Ramirez earned the win for King. He struck out one in the top of the seventh in relief.
Junior James Mejia, Sophomore Cooper Cantrell, Jones, Lipson, and Acosta each collected one hit for the Wolves. Jones and Acosta each drove in one run.
King didn’t commit an error in the field.
King has now won 10 games, first time in 3 years with double digit wins with a season record of 10-7 overall, 0-5 league
This week the Varsity Wolves have the weekend off and then are back in the gauntlet of Big VIII League play against Santiago on Monday April 13 at the Castle.
