THREE FIRSTS IN VICTOR VALLEY DEFEAT
November 19, 2025

After a stinging, late-game loss in the season opener Monday night, the boys from King came back with a commanding win over Victor Valley High on Tuesday night.
It was historic in part, as it held not just the 2025 campaign’s first win for the Wolves, but tucked inside the win was another two “firsts.”
The win marked Coach Durham’s first victory as the head coach of the King program and his first ever as a head coach.
Mark Cadena had a large role to play in that, as he had a 20-point “Double Double” to lead the Wolves. “It was a monster game” said Durham afterward.
But Freshman Kayden Burris, like the coach, had a “first” of his career too.
The freshman knocked down his first-ever varsity points of his career, finishing with 5 points, three rebounds and a couple of assists. Durham described the young player’s game as a “tremendous” effort.
Josh Ajayi continued his hot start to the season, now averaging 24 points over the two games that King has played.
“We bounced back from a tough loss,” said Durham of his team’s play. “The guys were super supportive of everyone who played.”
Throw in a couple of other historic firsts and it makes for a very good night for the Wolves.
