NORCO:  The Lady Wolves traveled to Norco for a rematch against Norco and played one of their best games of the season. With the team mired in a mini slump, the forwards were feeling the pressure to convert their opportunities into goals. Lucy Allen turned that pressure into motivation to not let her teammates down, as she got the scoring started at the 27th minute when she received a pass from Angelina Enriquez which she placed in the lower corner of the net to make it 1-0 King.

That score remained until the halftime. In the second half, Norco equalized the score by converting on a corner kick in the 55th minute of the game. Recently, when the other team gained momentum, we have been unable to get it back. Tonight, the girls doubled their efforts and continued fighting for their opportunities.

In the 63rd minute that opportunity came when Lucy received a ball at the top of the box and turned and fired a shot past the Norco keeper to make the final score 2-1 in favor of King.

Tonight, the girls put together one of their best games of the season. Our passing was on target and intentional, everyone contributed defensively to slowing down the attack, and our forwards displayed great heart in their pursuit of goals. We made some adjustments to the lineup to try and create a spark with the team. Our next home game against Santiago will tell us if we can build on this game as we try and finish strong for the end of our season.

Junior, Gianinna Barillas said following the game,  “We fought hard and everyone did their part on the field and it really showed with a well deserved win”

King is now 2-3-2 in league play and 14-6-5 overall
