RIVERSIDE: The MLK Wolves teed off in their final match of the season at home Friday against the Centennial Huskies. Despite being low in number, the team successfully defended the Den with a winning score of 234-284.
In her final head-to-head match as a Wolf, Samantha Woolweaver was the match medalist today with her career low of 41. Sophia Llamas was close behind with a 42, Taylor Lauritzen next with a 46, which was concluded with a great par save on the final hole, then Addison Ruan with a 48, and finally Alyssa Christensen with a 57.
The girls demonstrated impressive mental toughness following a round yesterday that not many were happy with. After a pre-match meeting in which we coaches emphasized both the importance of positive mentality and focus, as well as the need to remain dedicated for the rest of the post-season, the players proved their resolve with not only a career low out of Sam, but three rounds improved from the day before.
We are very proud of the girls for their mental shift today during a match when every score mattered, and we are looking forward to our league prelims which take place next Tuesday, 10/21.
League Record: 7-3
