TEMECULA: In the wild, lambs are usually lunchmeat for a pack of Wolves, but on the mound for King Monday afternoon against Temecula Rancho Christian High School, Junior Michael Lamb served up a fine helping of victory for the Wolves.
The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking four and taking the Wolves on their way to an 8-3 victory.
Senior Joaquin “Happy” Ramirez threw the final 2.2 innings to close the game.
The Wolves tallied 12 hits in the game. Senior Jayden Chavez, sophomore Adan Diaz, junior Carlos Moreno, senior Jason Jones, and senior Cory Lacher each collected two hits for King.
Chavez and Lacher were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs. Moreno stole two bases. Chavez hit 2 doubles, Lacher and sophomore Cooper Cantrell also hit doubles.
The King Wolves welcome Grand Terrace on Wednesday for their next game at the Castle.
