FULLERTON:  The boys basketball team closed out the Rumble on the Hill Tournament on Friday with a victory and were crowned the Consolation Champions.

“It was a super competitive, 32 team tournament,” commented Darius Durham, King’s head coach.  The victory came in overtime over Wilson High of Hacienda Heights.  The final score was 49-45 King.

Mark Cadena had a great game scoring 19 to go with 15 rebounds.  King went on an 8-0 run in the 4th quarter of the game to tie the score.  Then, in overtime, King’s defense took control and held their opponent scoreless and seal the win for the Wolves.

Durham was excited with what he saw.  “I’m always reaching that the whole is greater than the individual parts and we are learning to win in different ways as a team,” he said.  “This season holds a lot of potential for us.”

The Wolves are off to a 4-1 start.
