RIVERSIDE:  In a cross town rivalry on Tuesday, the Wolves headed over to JW North for a volleyball match against the Huskies.  It was a tightly contested match that ended with a victory for King, 3-2.

Giovanny Madott, Caleb Williams and Clyde Zak played exceptionally well.  “Caleb and Kingston had some amazing single blocks that brought energy in the third set to propel us to a win to start our comeback from being down 2 sets to none,” said King head coach Michael Tongg.

Of Madott’s play, teammate Jacob Rodgers said, “Gio’s composed serving brought us back from giant gaps in the game” and Junior Mahin Hoque said, “Caleb changed the momentum of the game and played incredibly well when we needed him.”

Tongg said after the game that his team needs to work on getting up and energized earlier in the match, not during the second or third set when we have lost a set or two and added, “If we can gel and be fluid from the start we will make fewer mistakes and build our confidence earlier in the match to play at our best abilities.”

At 13-4 on the season and 3-2 in the Big VIII, many good things are happening for the Wolves.
