Taryn Morales started her water polo career during the summer of 2013 as a freshman at John W. North in Riverside and quickly fell in love with the high pace and tough contact of the game. Though a novice, she quickly advanced and started varsity in the middle of her freshman year and continued on varsity for the next three. She played Center, but had a great shot from the outside so she also enjoyed playing on the outside.
Morales joined the Riverside Water Polo club during high school. She earned All-league her senior year and holds the JW North program record for most goals scored against cross town rival, Poly. As a club player, her team earned silver at Junior Olympics in 2017.
Coaching began immediately after graduation, back at JW North as she was tapped to lead the JV girls team. Morales also started coaching at Riverside Water polo Club (RWP) and became a certified coach under USA Water polo.
She started assisting at King back in 2018 and in her first year helped the team to the CIF finals where King fell short to Rosary High School. After COVID she stepped away from the coaching ranks at King until she was offered again the JV head coach position in 2022.
Morales is head coach for 16uboys at RWP but has also coached ages 9-18 both girls and boys at the club.
A Cal State San Bernardino grad with a BA in Education as of 2023 she is beginning the process of earning a teaching credential. Employed as the office manager at HealthPro EMS which is a certification business for ACLS, BLS, PALS, BART, and EMT refreshers.
Her hobbies are eclectic and include thrifting, beaching, snowboarding with her boyfriend, and going to NBA, NHL, and USC football games.
