Morgan Sjoerdsma

2025-26 Golf, Girls Head Coach

Morgan took the co-head coaching position in 2025, sharing the responsibility with her sister, Chandler. Both sisters were first introduced to golf by their aunt, Lucinda Brewer, and were competing in golf tournaments by the age of 10. Morgan was coached by Coach Scott Marsen, a PGA professional, at the Links of Summerly in Lake Elsinore, CA. The sisters worked with him until 2014, when we were 12 and 13, then they switched to Coach Kati Biszantz, a LPGA professional, at Seven Hills Golf Course and the Golf Club of Rancho California in Hemet and Temecula, respectively. They worked with Biszantz until college, then were both taught by Coach Hans Kersting, PGA professional and CSULA women’s golf coach.

Morgan graduated from King High in 2019 and savors the memory of winning Homecoming Queen her senior year. She was surrounded by her family and some childhood friends at the football game to cheer the “big reveal” of the winner. She had amazing experiences in Mrs. Turay’s and Mrs. Lupsaiu’s classes but with not a little bias, her favorite teacher was her dad, Mr. Gregg Sjoerdsma who taught English before his retirement. “It was really special to witness him as more than just my dad, pursuing two of his passions, teaching and literature. I learned a
lot from our class discussions and the hard work that was required to meet the high expectations that he had for us as students,” Morgan recalls.

Through high school golf, Morgan learned that she wanted to pursue playing in college. Her high school accomplishments were significant: Big VIII All Conference Team(4x); Scholar Athlete(4x); Team Rookie of the Year; Team MVP(3x); CIF Individual Qualifier(3x); All-Area (Riverside County) 2nd Team; All Inland Empire Area Team(2x).
In 2019 she was selected as the King High Female Athlete of the Year.

Morgan is a graduate of Cal State Los Angeles with a BS degree and teaching credential in Mathematics as well as a Masters in Educational Technology.
Due to the Covid Pandemic, she was able to compete all six of her years at Cal State LA.
