2024-25 Soccer, Boys Head Coach
Caleb Ikwaugwu took the reigns of the boys soccer team at the start of the 2024-2025. Coach “IK” as he’s affectionately known, has been on the King campus since 2022, teaching Mathmatics and assisting Todd Mapes as the head boys JV coach during the 2023-24 season.
His coaching resume is much longer than his current stint at King High. Prior to coming to Riverside, Caleb coached at Enterprise High School in Redding, CA, for two seasons where he helpd the Hornets advance to the 2nd Round of CIF NorCal playoffs in 2022. Caleb was a coach at his alma mater, Simpson University from 2017-2019 and in 2018 the Red Hawks qualified for the 2018 California Pacific Conference playoffs. Also in 2018, he coached a California Pacific Conference scholar athlete award winner. He also adds coaching experience in the Club world in Riverside to his resume.
Caleb has been a soccer player for most of his life. His childhood through high school was experienced in Nigeria before moving to the United States in 2011. He played for two years at Shasta Community College in Redding, CA as a defensive midfielder. From there he transfered on a scholarship to Simpson where he not only played excellent soccer but also graduated with a BA in math and a MA in Education in 2019.
For fun, Caleb loves watching suspense and psychological thriller movies.
